Weekend Update with Cecily Strong and Colin Jost

The segment started with Cecily Strong welcoming Colin Jost to the desk, to which he expressed his excitement, saying, "I'm so grateful and excited to be here tonight, this is really a dream come true for me". The topics included the 50th anniversary of Pop-Tarts, Jason Collins's return to the NBA, and Piers Morgan leaving CNN. With guests, Charles Barkley (Kenan Thompson) and Shaquille O’Neal (Jay Pharoah) stops by Weekend Update to comment about the first openly-gay NBA player, and 1860’s critic Jebidiah Atkinson (Taran Killam) has harsh reviews of this year’s Best Picture nominees. First appearance of Colin Jost as SNL cast member and Weekend Update co-anchor.
