The opening montage is the same as in the two previous seasons, except this time the still photos of the musical guest and host are now replaced by short video clips of them. Additionally, longtime cast members Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah, and first-year featured player Jon Rudnitsky are gone from the intro, since 3 of them were let go the show prior to this season, and the first credits for Mikey Day, Alex Moffat, and Melissa Villaseñor, who replace the departing trio. Meanwhile, Michael Che, Pete Davidson and Leslie Jones were all upgraded to repertory status.
